Creature in the Basement

This was when I was 15 years old (I'm 18 now) No one had ever been in the basement before, we had lived in that house for 4 years and could never get the door open. It was jammed shut and who knows how long for.
One day I actually just knocked it open after I fell over and hit it, I went down there and it was completely empty so after my Dad made sure there was nothing dangerous down there, he let me make it my bedroom since my other one was too small.
By the end of the day everything from my old room had been moved into the basement.
There was the main room right next to the staircase, my bed was under the staircase.
And in front of the staircase was a small room with no door, we wer planning on taking down the walls to make it all one big room.
I was sleeping that night when I suddenly woke up for no reason and looked around the room. A weird noise was coming from the other room, it was so weird, I don't think the best sound editors in the world could imitate it.
I got out of bed and walked over to the door, I looked in and right in the darkest corner was something horrid. It was a dark figure in the shape of a creature I have never seen before it was as tall as me *5'5*
I ran up the stairs but when I tried to open the door, I realized it was jammed shut again, I heard breathing behind me and it got closer and closer. I started screaming for my parents to help, they got to the door and started looking for something to take off the hinges.
Footsteps started coming up the stairs (there were 30 steps). I started screaming even more and kicking at the door handle to see if I could knock it off. Suddenly the door literally fell out of place and landed on the other side. I ran across it and urged my dad to help me put it back, we put it up again.
I told my parents everything that had happened, they said if it wasn't for how I was acting they would never have believed me.
We moved out a few weeks later.
I searched the house a few months ago and found out it burnt to the ground one day after my family moved out.
