The Native Woman

I was at a wedding the day he told me this story. We were talking about some of my family leaving to Newfoundland and that we were to see a ghost tour of St Johns, the oldest city in Canada. He told us that he had seen a ghost about a week ago. Now I am a believer but have not seen anything paranormal so I was like “What” He was totally telling the truth. I will tell the story from his perspective.
I was invited to barbeque a few weeks back. I wasn’t familiar to the neighborhood. It is old and overgrown and a little spooky. Anyway I found the house and it was probably the nicest house in the neighborhood. They greeted me at the door and I walked in. We were talking for a bit and she had to go to cook the steak. I decided to go to the washroom, so I turned into the hallway and at the end there was an elderly native woman sitting on the couch. I nodded to her and she nodded back. I was in the washroom thinking of who it might be. Why is there a native woman with a dated dress here?
I later assumed it was my friends girlfriend which I have not met before. We sat down to eat and she was not around. I asked where the woman that was sitting on the couch was. They said what woman? This is everybody. No there was a native woman sitting out there. What native woman? You must be losing it. I later forgot about it.
Three nights later I was in my own house (He lives alone ) and I woke up at three in the morning to use the washroom when I saw the same lady sitting on my couch now. I was stunned, blinked and looked back and there was no one there. I had trouble falling back to sleep because I was hearing noises. I got up and went to the kitchen for some water and every single cupboard and drawer was open. I was now scared but I forced myself to get some water. And 6:00 I got up and went to research on my computer.
Five weeks later I went to Calgary with Amy, the girl that had the barbeque. We stopped by her moms friend who can apparently see ghosts and the first thing she said to me was. Who’s that Indian lady following you around. Amy was amazed and told her the story. She said that it was my friends friend and all she wanted was to see everyone again. She means no harm.
My grandpa lives alone and is frightened and I feel bad for him. I hope she leaves him alone. I want to go to his house and try and talk to the so called “The Native Woman.” This is 100% true.
